Week 1
For the past week, my teams goal(Kenny and Theron) was to get a mockup of the game and finalize what the game would ultimately look like. This includes the aesthetics and the overall feel of the game. During the week we also decided on a lot of the mechanics such as guessing and how the levels will progress. To accomplish these goals we grouped up together and talked through what we would do. Both Kenny and Theron designed concepts and we decided to incorporate some things from both concepts. We accomplished most of what we wanted to get done. As the Design Director I and my team came to the decision that adding more obstacles to the levels as they go on would be best, like helpers for the teacher and more students in class. A feature did get changed during the week, a guessing feature. This feature was originally going to be a mini game, but was changed to being RNG focused, though the actually implementation of this feature will be at a later date.The process to getting this done was just talking and tossing around ideas. My goals for next week as someone who is working on the design of the game is to think about what will improve my game in terms of features and how the UI will look and give those who were looking forward to this game something to like. To accomplish this goal I will discuss with my teammates ideas and whats feasible in terms of coding and time.
-PlayTesting report- We play tested the game Hunted. The feedback we received was to mind the scope of the game, Not make too many levels off the bat and make a few levels based on the features and refine them, then make more levels to flesh out the game more. Another feedback we received was a cool feature that could be implemented. With the feedback that I received I will take it and move forward with these things in mind.
